Here’s a quick list of some of the window treatments we can help you with:

Decorating standard-style windows is relatively easy since they are rectangular and there are no curves to navigate. However, it’s important to begin by assessing all of the windows within the room. While some rooms contain identical windows, it’s more common for rooms to feature a variety of types and sizes. For example, a room may include a picture window at one end, multiple double-hung windows, and a sliding door, all on different walls. Special considerations may affect the style of treatment you choose, such as windows in corners or installed at differing heights on the wall. Your goal is to unify the room with the same fabric on each window and door unit, and to mount treatments at the same heights, if possible, to create consistency and balance throughout the setting.

Designing with Borders
There are many ways to create an interesting border effect on a panel. Border print fabrics, where the print runs along the lengthwise edge of the fabric, can be positioned so that the decorative edge is highlighted across a valance or down the length of a drapery panel. If you go this route, select a border print featuring an all-over design that looks the same when viewed from all directions to ensure that the print looks the same whether it’s placed horizontally or vertically. Another way to create a border effect is to stitch bands of contrast fabric along the edges of a window treatment. Be sure the finished bands are at least 2 in. wide so they will be noticeable from across the room.

Arch-Top and Transform Windows
If you have recently completed a renovation or purchased a new home, chances are you have a few specialty windows that give a unique architectural element to your home. While striking to look at, the arch-top and transom windows provide a challenge in selecting the right window treatment that offers both beauty and function. Arch-top windows, with their sweeping curves, and transom windows let in excessive light, causing glare and possible harm to textiles, artwork, and wood furnishings in the room. In addition, a large window can create black hole effect when the sun goes down. All of these things should be considered when selecting a proper window treatment.
