Measuring For Curtains
We are often asked “so how exactly do you measure for curtains?” Well, to measure fabric for your curtains, start by measuring the width and height of your window. When you want floor length curtains, you’ll want to measure from the bottom of the window to the floor, then subtract one inch, and then you want to add that number to the height of the window. This will give you the height of the fabric you should use.
How far below window should curtains hang?
In the traditional style, your curtain rod should be about 6 inches above the top of the window, It should extend beyond the window three inches on each side. The curtain should hang about 3 inches below the bottom of your window sill
