Rod was involved in several long term projects while working with other Interior Decorators. This included work in condominiums, single-family homes, Inns, and Timeshare Lodges. He says of that period, “I was hanging draperies 3 or 4 times a week for years in places like Provincetown, Killington, Watervillle Valley, and Lincoln”.

Some ideas about panel lengths
Deciding where to end panels is often a matter of personal preference. Different looks can be achieved when fabric is allowed to brush the floor or cascade into graceful folds. Consider these factors to help achieve the look that is right for you:
Sill Length: Plan for shorter panels to fall at the sill or at the bottom of the window molding, not in the middle of the wall space.
Floor Length: Panels should end approximately ¼ in. above the floor for a smooth, custom look. Floor-length panels fall freely yet stay orderly and tidy – a good idea if you have small children.
Break Length: Adding 2 in. to the floor length allows panels to gently sweep the floor, creating a full design effect along the lower portion of the drapes.
Puddle Length: Adding 8 in. to 12 in. to the floor length creates the most relaxed feeling of all as the fabric forms a “puddle” as it fans out on the floor.
