A little about Corner Windows
When you have windows that are positioned in the corners of a room, they can pose a special challenge due to their close proximity to both each other and to the corner. These type of windows can be treated in 2 ways, separately or as one window. If the windows are standing alone with space between the molding and the corner, you can choose two separate window treatments. However plan to have the sides of each window treatment touch in the corner. If you treat the windows as one unit, it is often a pleasing solution because the continuous appearance of the treatment makes windows appear larger than they actually are.
About Changing the Window’s Shape
When you have windows that appear ordinary, a simple trick that designers use, is to elevate the center of a treatment onto the wall above. This alters the shape of the window, and creates the illusion of a different shape that breaks the repetitive pattern of straight lines throughout the room. If you raise the treatment once in the center, it works well for single and double windows, but when dealing with triple windows, you may want to raise the treatment two times along the top edge to help keep it in scale with the wider width. Decorative details such as using covered buttons on a trumpet swag can draw the eye upward, and especially when they’re made from some kind of a contrasting fabric.
